"My recent stay at Black Dog Farm was absolutely delightful...from being greeted by two sweet and gentle black labs upon my arrival to being awed by the beauty of the house and property.  My bedroom was small and cozy with an old stone fireplace and the most comfy bed and pillows ever, truly appreciated after many hours of driving.  In the morning, I opened the French doors in my room to relax on the expansive balcony overlooking lush fields with horses and goats grazing in the morning sun.  I loved the huge windows in the house, the beautiful stone fireplaces in every room, old wide board floors, the grand staircase that welcomed visitors and the narrow back staircase that led to my room, and the wall of French doors overlooking the patio and gardens in the kitchen/dining/sitting room.  Having driven through very historical areas over several days and reconnecting with the history of our country, my stay at the inn was a step into another time of open space and peaceful existence that we tend to forget about.  Thank you so very much, Kristen and Phil."  -Carol H.

Rooms/Rates

We have three unique guest rooms.  All rooms are furnished with beautiful antiques and reproductions, and include a complimentary bottle of local wine, handcrafted chocolates, and a hot breakfast. 

 

 

Welby Suite: 1 king bed, seating area, fireplace, large private master bath: $269/night

Louisa Room: 2 queen beds, seating area, fireplace, private bath: $239/night

Sophia Room: 1 queen bed, fireplace, private bath: $219/night

Louisa-Sophia Suite: Two complete guest rooms with fireplaces, 1 bathroom, sleeps up to 6 guests: $389/night

 

 

Reservations will be held pending receipt of $150 deposit.  

 

  • Reservations cancelled with more than 14 days notice will receive a full refund.
  • Reservations cancelled with less than 14 days notice are subject to forfeiture of all advance payments unless rooms can be re-booked.
  • Check-in is from 3:00 to 6:00pm.  (Early/late check-in may be arranged in advance; early check-in will incur a $25 fee.)
  • Check-out is by 11am (late check-out can be arranged but will incur a $25 additional charge).
  • Posted rates are based on double occupancy.  A $30 charge will be added for each additional guest.

 

Children

We cannot accommodate children under the age of 12 years old.

 

If you are bringing a 12 or older child with you, you MUST let us know in advance; guests who choose to bring children without prior approval risk being turned away.

Pets

Pets cannot be accommodated in our guest rooms.  Out of respect for the animals who live here, we ask that you leave your pets at home or find alternative arrangements.

Must Love Dogs

Our two black lab/border collie mix dogs live with us at the Inn.  If you are allergic or otherwise do not care for dogs, we urge you to consider other places to stay.
